THE BRIEF

What the client needed

A US owner had qualified a Northern Mexico fabricator for a five-vessel package destined for a Gulf Coast refinery turnaround. With limited operator bandwidth and a tight turnaround window, the owner contracted PSG to embed a vendor inspector at the fabricator for the duration of the build and to run an end-of-build capability evaluation.

PSG'S APPROACH

What we did, in order

  1. 01

Full-time vendor inspector embedded at the fabricator for 14 weeks, with daily reports in English and Spanish.

  2. 02

Material certification verification on plate, flange, and weld consumable receipts.

  3. 03

Witnessing of welder qualification tests, pressure tests, and dimensional acceptance.

  4. 04

End-of-build capability evaluation written against ASME Section VIII Div 1 and the owner-specific MSE.
